The Kansas Jr. Livestock Show (KJLS) is an annual event that celebrates and showcases the hard work, dedication, and expertise of 4-H and FFA livestock exhibitors from across Kansas. This event serves as a platform for youth to display their agricultural skills, animal husbandry knowledge, and showmanship abilities.
October 2-4, 2026
Kansas State Fairgrounds, Hutchinson, Kansas
Exhibitors of the show who are high school seniors or enrolled in post-secondary school are eligible to apply for the KJLS Scholarships. These scholarships are designed to recognize and support the academic and agricultural accomplishments of exceptional young individuals participating in the livestock industry.
In addition to the livestock competitions, the show also hosts the LEAD Challenge for exhibitors. Competition in the LEAD Challenge encourages KJLS exhibitors to develop not only the ability to show livestock, but also a well-rounded knowledge of animal agriculture and important advocacy skills. The challenge consists of four main components: Listen & Learn sessions, livestock showmanship, skill stations, and a career development activity.
