National FFA Band, Chorus, and Talent: Audition By July 18, 2025.

News

Each year 70,000 FFA members from across the nation gather to celebrate accomplishments and compete in events at the national level. In addition to the various career opportunities, convention sessions, and other highlights, members also have the opportunity to apply for the National FFA Band, Chorus, and Talent. Any member with an interest to perform can submit an application.

WHY AUDITION-
At a glance, a member interested in the National Band or Chorus could expect the following:

  • A week-long musical experience gaining new techniques and a better musical understanding.
  • Time to meet members from across the United States and its territories.
  • Meet individuals who make FFA possible.
  • Fun with new friends and visiting downtown monuments (Soldiers & Sailors Monument).

Here is an experience I had while in the National Band.

The National FFA Band, Chorus, and Talent programs are selective and make up a small percentage of FFA members, making it highly prestigious. The Band and Chorus typically accept 80-90 members while the Talent accepts 25-50. Although it may be a difficult process, the opportunity is beyond priceless.

Here are a few stories from prior Kansas attendees:

“The National FFA Chorus was an experience that I’ll never forget. I made friendships that will last a lifetime with people from all over the United States. The feeling of performing in front of over 70,000 people at the National FFA Convention was absolutely amazing and one of my biggest accomplishments. Every moment was filled with energy, friendship, and a shared love for music. I would encourage anyone who has a passion for singing to audition and experience it for themselves-it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity that creates stories that’ll be shared for years to come.”

“I had the opportunity to be part of the National FFA Band in 2021 and 2022, and it was my best experience while in FFA. I met so many amazing people from all over the country and performed in front of tens of thousands of people in Lucas Oil Stadium. Being able to experience the National Convention from a completely different perspective, compared to attending as an attendee, was incredible. Some of my favorite moments were being on stage before the sessions and experiencing the energy created by thousands of FFA members. The audition process is not as scary as you would think it would be. Everything they expect is listed out in the audition process. I talked to one of the directors, and they select people picking solos of all levels and it’s important to pick a solo you can play well compared to a harder solo. If you get the opportunity to audition and participate in the National band, do it.”
