Drums? Where did this come from?

Who would’ve known that I would be learning how to play the drums my freshman year in college. If you would have told me in the month of August that I would know how to play the drums. I would have probably laughed and said no way. However here I am in the first week of November with my own drum set learning how to not only make a beat, but carry it consistently as well.
Words have Power

The power of words has hit me more than ever the last couple of months. I’m blown away by conversations I’ve had with countless individuals here at K-State. Are you ever just in awe because of a rich and incredible conversation you’ve had with someone? I’ve never felt so good as after one of these conversations. Honestly, I didn’t know if I wanted to write about this because it’s hard to find the words to describe the feeling in my heart, after finishing one of these.
Homesick

The end of a good Disney movie normally has some sort of reunion. Mulan got to go home, Ariel got to live on land with the prince, and Rapunzel met her real parents. We all go through times where we are surrounded by our loved ones, and times where we feel like we are traveling alone. How do we manage to continue growing as people, even when our role models, family, or friends aren’t with us?
Sacrifice

Recently I was allowed the opportunity to take a trip to Washington D.C. with another organization that I am involved in. I have taken several trips to D.C. in the past and the monuments always impress me and blow me away, but this time something different struck me.

Whether we are excited for Friday night lights in our hometowns, a Saturday celebrating K-State Wildcat football, or getting out a Mahomes jersey to cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs, watching football is something that people of all ages and backgrounds look forward to during the fall months.
