Please join us for our annual “Breakout Meat Evaluation Contest” in Fort Scott, Kansas at the Bourbon County Fairgrounds across the street from Fort Scott Community College.
Open to anyone. 4-H, FFA or junior high Ag students, all are welcome. We will have two divisions this year! We will have a Senior division and a Junior Division. The senior division will be 10th grade and older, the junior division will be 9th grade and younger. We had a very limited number of younger participants last year, so we hope by changing the junior division to 9th grade and lower, we will get more kids involved in that division.
Entry fee of $5 per participant. No limit on number of participants and you will run all of your kids on one team in their respective divisions. In other words, if you bring 12 kids that are in 10-12th grade, all 12 will be on your Senior division team.
Scantrons will be provided if you email me by January 25th with the number of kids you plan to bring. You can enter after January 25th, but you’ll need to provide your own scantrons in that case. Bring clipboards and pencils.
The FSCC Meat Judging team will officiate. No frocks or hard hats necessary. Hope to have results at 1:30 PM. If you need to get on the road, you can leave as soon as you’re done.
Prizes!!! We are working on some unique prizes to give away. I will update once we have those prizes confirmed. We will award at a minimum the top 3 teams in the Senior division, top 2 teams in the Junior division and top 10 individuals in both divisions.
