Tallgrass Range Academy: August 29-31: Camp Wood YMCA – Elmdale, KS
Shortgrass Range Academy: September 5-7: Camp Christy – Scott City, Kansas

These academies focus on various aspects of rangeland including plant identification, figuring stocking rates, monitoring vegetation response, estimating forage allocation, and more about managing your rangeland! There will be ranchers and natural resource professionals from NRCS and other organizations present. These individuals will discuss planning long term for whatever nature or market forces bring to your ranching enterprise and how to respond to keep your rangeland health high and your livestock productive. For each 2 ½ day academy, the cost is $350 per student. This covers room, board and tuition. Scholarships of $175 are available for most ranchers and eligible college students while scholarships of $125 are available for most natural resource agency personnel.
