‘Twas the Night Before a Workshop
Twas the night before a workshop,
State officers were busy all through the state,
To be sure they’re not late,
Preparing their workshops with time to spare,
With hopes that the students would soon be there.
The officers were excited to get the night started,
Dreading when the time comes where they parted,
The night was about to begin,
They all looked at each other, each with a grin.
Here come the students all filled with smiles,
We can see the blue and gold for miles,
We played lots of music to sing and dance,
Playing musical chairs with hopes to advance.
When outside the room there arose such a clatter,
The students ran to the door asking what’s the matter,
The officers looked equally confused,
All the teachers smiled, amused.
This winter workshop took a weird turn,
The state officers faces spoke with concern,
Everyone’s suspicions starting to grow,
They see the lawn filled with ever so white snow.
The students gasped at the sight,
All anxious with what they saw in the night,
The officers excited with what was to come,
Having now idea where it came from.
As they looked into the night,
The room roared with excite,
The students looked back filled with questions,
The officers looked to the teachers for suggestions.
They tried to continue with what they had planned,
But everyone was just trying to understand,
With a sigh of defeat and an exchange of glances,
The state officers decide to take their chances.
Out in the snow all bundled up in their coats,
The state offices take one more look at their notes,
Accepting defeat,
They heard a screech.
They were not the biggest fan,
It didn’t go according to plan,
Even though we can look at the night in spite,
It turned out to be the most wonderful night!
Happy Holidays to all,
Kansas FFA State Officers
